Hi I'm James, I am a Software
Developer. Below is some info on me and why I think I
would make a great Junior Dev.
My interest in Software
Development began in 2020. Through a combination of personal, commercial
and coding bootcamp work I have developed projects using HTML, CSS, JS, Node, Python, Next.js, Express.js
and various other frameworks. I am constantly building projects and learning new technologies, recently
developing apps with the OpenAI and Discord APIs.
My decade long career in Video Editing
and Motion Design has provided me with a wealth of
transferable skills for Software Development such as design, communication
with stakeholders, learning aptitude and problem solving. I have been working with the tech team
at my current company 'Transperfect'
helping to
develop a media content management system.
I am a positive and social
individual who enjoys developing new skills and has an aptitude for
learning. When
I'm not at my desk developing my latest project, you'll find me at a Toastmasters
public speaking meetup, at a Jiu Jitsu class, or playing the guitar. I also thoroughly enjoy
reading whether it's a technical coding article or page-turning fiction.
In March 2023 I obtained a certificate
in Front-End Web development
from Trilogy Skills Bootcamp. This course gave me a strong
foundation in web development fundamentals such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, UI
development, REST APIs,
CLI, GIT and experience in developing projects in a group. I have also previously obtained a B/A
in
Sociology from the University of Sussex.
